Bhoti Language Training for In-Service Teachers of Tawang district organised by Department of Karmic & Adhyatmik Affairs (DoKA) was today launch by Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi. Chairman DoKA Jambey Wangdi, DC Tawang Abishek Dev along with officers and teachers of DDSE were present at the launch of the noble initiative.

In an effort to promote Bhoti literacy amongst Monpa community the MLA Tawang had couple of months ago started free Bhoti classes in various parts of the district. It was informed to this daily that there are more than 200 people, mostly between the age of 20 to 40 who attend these Bhoti classes.

When inquiring about the future success rate of his initiative, Tsering Tashi said on a light note, “I can only take the horse to the pond but can’t make him drink water” and further said, “The basis of preservation and understanding our culture, tradition and religion is entirely dependent on Bhoti language and literature, thats why it becomes so much important to learn Bhoti in a age were change is rapid”.
